Housewarming Party - ahem... 2 weeks late.

Sorry for the delay. I haven't gotten around to downloading the pictures. Yeah, all 3 of them. In order to become a better blogger, i need to remember to take pictures, and to learn how to take better ones as well.

Anywho, the housewarming party was great! Thanks to everyone that was able to make it. It was nice to share with friends and family. It was a fun night. There was music, BBQ, beer, sangria, and fun! We borrowed my mother-in-law's backyard furniture and set it up around the pool, which was perfect! Plenty of drinking and smoking(for Brian and friends - they all smoke like chimenies)space! We got some great gifts too. A very cute Peir One wall candle holder from my best friend Dayna, a Home Depot gift card, oil diffuser, and cute little "Home Sweet Home" picture from my mom, and some yummy smelly Jelly Belly candles for me & a sweet poker set for Brian from his boss Darryl and wife Brenda. Thanks everyone!

Here are my 3 crappy pictures...

For Jen

Here's a picture of the front of the house!

we will be painting the outside when it cools off. Then in the spring we'll plant flowers in the flower bed. we're also going to remove that big bush, and flatten out the rocks and remove the cacti.

Weekend Update

I'm going to attempt to do this every weekend. Even though I still haven't talked about our housewarming party that happened LAST weekend, yet. I will will get to that. Need to upload the 3 whole pictures that I took of the night. I need to get better about taking pictures. Sorry!

Anyway, my weekend starts Friday. Friday I got up and went to Tae Kwon Do, as I do every Friday. Then I came home, and relaxed a bit. Played on the computer, worked on my business a bit, and cleaned the kitchen. Hubs left work a little early to go to the lake with some co-workers for wake boarding. That was fine, because I had plans to go out with my friends as well.

Friday night I went with my friends Melissa and Jenna to see the band Tiger Army play! They were amazing, and we had a lot of fun. I ran into one of my best friends who apparently didn't get my voicemail earlier that I was going to the show, so that was cool.

Saturday, Brian and I slept in, and went to the bank to open a CD, then went to lunch, came home, and vegged out and watched TV. A very lazy day. Then we went to watch Travis and Sam's band Reason Unknown play. They were good, but i felt like i was 16. They played at some random warehouse where they have bands play for teenagers to watch. Let me tell you, that we won't go do that again. After they played, we went and hung out at Sam & Jenna's for a bit. A very chill night.

Now it's Sunday and I'm back at work. Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Oooooh! Cutems!

I came across this website called girlprops.com on the Frugal Fashionista blog. Some uber cute (that's right, I said uber) stuff!

Cute anchor necklace

Fun Tattoo band-aids

A girl loves her sunglasses. I know I do!

They had some odd stuff too... Like this humping pig pin. I thought it was funny though.

Not only is this stuff cute, it's super cheap as well. Super. Super duper. I like saying that right now.

Tag! You're it!

I've been tagged again! This time by my good friend Lisa . I'm horrible at this type of stuff. I really suck with talking about myself like this. It's my most dreaded question in interviews, "tell me about yourself." I don't know why, I just hate it! This literally took me all day to come up with six things, so here we go!

Okay so here are the rules:
1. Link to the person who tagged you
2. Post the rules to your blog
3. Write 6 random things about yourself
4. Tag 6 people at the end of your post and link to them
5. Let each person you have tagged know by leaving a comment on their blog.
6. Let the tagger know when your entry is post

Here are my 6 random things:

1. I don't have a favorite color. Really, I like them all! Well, except yellow and orange.

2. I was home-birthed. Yep. All 4 of us. My mom is crazy. At home, in bed, no doctors, just a midwife, no epidural. Crazy woman!

3.I love to cook. Baking is a different story. I hate to follow recipes, and to measure stuff. Cooking is better.

4. I want a puppy. Real bad. Gizzy needs a sibling. Brian promised (pinky swore) he will get me one for our anniversary. He better!

5. I love popping zits. I know, that's gross, but I love it. I will sit on the bathroom counter and squeeze every single pore.

6. I do not have a gallbladder. I had it removed when I was 13 years old due to gall stones.

I tag...

Recipe: Low Calorie Banana Muffins

I made this recipe from Spark Recipes just now:

Ingredients
3/4 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/8 tsp salt
1 cup mashed bananas
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup applesauce
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease muffin tin or use paper muffin liners.
Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a separate bowl, beat banana, sugar, egg, and vanilla. Stir in applesauce.
Stir in flour mixture.
Pour batter into muffin cups. About 3/4 full.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the muffin comes out clean.
If you use paper liners, the muffins stick to the paper until they have set awhile.
Makes 12 servings

I made a few changes.... I used all whole wheat flower instead of 3/4 white and 1/4 wheat, and I added walnuts. So the nutrition info may differ with my changes.

I'm eating them now, and they're okay. Kind of dry... But now that I look at the recipe again, I just realized that i forgot applesauce. That explains why they taste off. Damnit!

Sorry no picture. Don't know where the camera ran off to.

He Loves...

Apparently we've been tagged. And when I say we, I of course mean all us newlyweds out there. We've been tagged by Newlywedims by Brynn to tell what your husband loves.

My husband loves...

Snowboarding - He's really good at it and looks sexy doing it! He used to love to skateboard too, but he's "too old and uncoordinated" now. I for one, hate snowboarding. I just can't do it. He doesn't even attempt to take me with him anymore, and I don't even attempt to go. The first time he ever took me was up to Lake Tahoe. I'm thinking, "this won't be hard, I can totally do this!" Um... yeah. He takes me to the biggest mountain says, "okay girlfriend just stay on your heals. Ready? Let's go!" We ride up the "bunny slopes" which was not a bunny slope at all at that mountain, and we get off the ski lift and I make it off that in one piece, but then right as we get off there's this huge turn and a cliff. I am scared to death cause I cannot control this snowboard. I kept making myself fall because I was so afraid. It took me an hour to get about 1/4 mile. I finally start crying because I'm so scared and say, "fuck this! I give up! You go ahead I'll meet you down there." And of course he wouldn't just leave me on top of a mountain. But I insisted. We did have walky talkies afterall. So he finally just rode down himself and waited for me to WALK down the mountain.

The colors grey and black. It's seriously all his wardrobe conisists of.

Tools. He's a carpenter. Need I say more?

Mashed potatoes. He could eat these all day every day. Especially MY garlic mashed potatoes. It's why he loves me.

Gizmo even though he probably won't admit just how much he does love him.

And me of course!

Fall is coming!

Ahhh, my favorite time of year. So much good stuff comes in fall. First we get our relief of the scortching hot weather (although I'm bummed I didn't get a better tan going), then comes October. My favorite month of the year. We have my birthday, our anniversary (1 year already?!), and my most favorite day of the year.... Halloween!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Halloween! It's so fun! The decorations, the haunted houses, dressing up (yes, I still do), cute kids trick-or-treating... It's all just so festive! Love it! Hey, did I tell you that I love Halloween? Guess what? I love Halloween!! hahaha

I went to Michaels yesterday to check out the Labor Day sales and to get stuff for my failed attempt at wall art. They had they're fall/Halloween display. So much cool stuff! My favorite was the life sized headless bride and groom. I am like a kid when it comes to this. I'm definitely going all out this year with decorations. Can't wait!

There are a ton of fun Halloween projects and crafts at Better Home & Gardens I definitely want to try crafting up this wreath. How cute!

The weekend is over. :(

We're back from a very productive weekend. Hope everyone got some relaxation in, we sure didn't. Our weekend was very busy.

Friday was really uneventful. I was so incredibly board and going stir crazy while the hubs watched the most boring sport ever invented... baseball. Sorry people. Hate watching baseball. I complained all night until we got a pretty rad monsoon. I believe it was the same monsoon the east valley got the night before. It was all sorts of crazy! The hubs and I sat outside on the back porch and watched the scary lightening and the rain.
Some very blury pictures from my phone. I am the furthest thing from a photographer so let me make that disclaimer if I haven't already:

Saturday as posted below... We went all the way out to IKEA, then to AZ Mills, then Target, then Home Depot, and finally home to get started on our master bedroom. The only room in the house that hadn't been touched yet (well, besides the kitchen, but that'll be another day).

Before:
(when we first moved in and removed the blue carpet).

(carpet being installed)

My inspiration picture from Desire To Inspire:

And here's our after... The color is WAY brighter than the picture above. Didn't quite turn out right, but I don't hate it. We will probably end up repainting it, but it'll have to stay for a little bit. So without any further ado, here are the afters:

That's right. we got mirrored closet doors. Bow chica bow wow! Kidding. Will be replaced... someday.

We also installed our trim on the floors:

And here are our afters of the guest bathroom since I didn't get a picture of it before:

(After):

So tell me what you think about the bedroom. Does the paint definitely need to be lighter? Any ideas for accessories? I want to get a monogram from Esty for above the bed, but hubs says he doesn't like them. I also made those canvases hanging over the bed today. I'm going to do them over... I used a canvas and scrapbook paper, but I think I'll need to use either fabric or wrapping/wall paper. It of course didn't turn out right, like everything else I do. I'm a beginner so give me some slack. :/

I want your opinions!
