One Year Ago Today!

I married the most awesome person in the world! After a year and 1/2 engagement, and 5 years of dating, we were finally married! We were married on October 27th, 2007 at the Glendale Civic Center. We chose the date because we were never really sure when our dating anniversary was. We knew it was somewhere between my birthday (the 10th) and Halloween, so now we have an official anniversary!

The day was perfect! I didn't sleep at all the night before, but who does right? I was extremely nervous. Brian and I both are a bit shy and don't really like to be the center of attention, so I know that we were both more nervous about standing there in front of 120 people than we were about actually getting married. It was a beautiful day, and everything turned out absolutely amazing! Here's a slideshow and a few photos of the day:

***Update*** well apparently I can't get the slideshow to work, so here are some pictures...

Update On Lily

Oh my. If having a puppy is anything like having a baby, I think we just reassured ourselves that we're definitely not ready for that. haha I'm thinking with a baby I can't be a bad mommy and stick it on the ground when it wakes me up in the morning and I don't feel like getting up with it for the 3rd time, right? (I only did that once and learned my lesson) I'm thinking I can't stick it in a kennel when I leave either, no? Actually, I'm counting my blessings here. Lily is a pretty good puppy. Gizmo was a lot harder when we brought him home. He cried all night. Didn't want to sleep in his kennel, but didn't want to sleep w/us either. Every time we tried to get him to sleep w/us he peed the bed. He had explosive diarriah due to the fact that I don't think the people we got him from were really feeding him dog food quite yet.

With Lily she's been a breeze for the most part. She sleeps through most the night. Wakes up at about 5-6AM for potty and play time. She'll be awake for about a half an hour then back to sleep till about 9am. She sleeps right on my neck. She's a big cuddler. She a great eater, maybe too good. I think she still has a little bit of the puppy eating habits. You know, where they think they have to rush the food because they're used to seven other puppies all trying to get it at once? She has a TON of energy! I just can't wait till she's got all her shots and is old/big enough for walks and hiking!

Anywho, as expected, it took Giz about a week to warm up to her. At first he was all, "what is this thing?" then the next couple days he was all, "that's funny mommy, but why is this thing still here?" Then he was all like, "we're not seriously going to keep this, are we mommy?" He was super jealous, but I tried my best to give him the same amount of attention, and make sure he knew that he was still loved. We even went hiking when the weather cooled down and had mommy and gizzy time. After about a week he was ready to be a big brother. Now they play constantly and now I think I'm feeling a little left out. :( just kidding, but they're hilarious when they play!

Halloween Decor!

As I've mentioned before, I love Halloween! Here are my decorations. I know they're not much. I'd love to go all out, but you know, the whole "operation emergency savings" thing we got going on right now, doesn't allow me to go all out like I'd want to.

I made this! Thank you very much! I am very proud of my creation. Especially due to the fact that every time I try to be crafty I fail big time.

Wassup?!

Wow! I've been M.I.A. for a while, huh? Sorry about that, it's been super busy around these parts due to the new puppers, and well, just being busy. Then our internet was down for a couple days. The cable company had to send someone out and it ended up that our modem took a crap, so that had to be replaced.

So I'm back with some updates. Life has been pretty boring lately, no house updates now, except for Halloween decorating. We're putting all projects on hold for a while to get through the holidays and to save for emergency purposes. Never know what will happen in this econemy these days, it's pretty scary.

Anyway, onto more non-depressing subjects...

What has been going on besides puppy? Well I had my birthday! I am now at the ripe old age of 26. I should start stocking up on wrinkle cream now. haha just kidding. ;P
For my bday we went out and had a great time! We went to Westgate and hit up some bars. First we went to the Shout House, a dueling piano bar, which was fun. They made me get up on stage and sit on the piano while singing a nice vulgar song to me, which was very embarrassing. Then we went to Saddleranch and hung out. By that time I was done for and just decided to drink water. That's how you know you're old. When your bday celebration ends at midnight. Here is a picture from the night of my little sister and I:

We went to Edgefest back on September 27th. Unfortunately I came down with something that day and felt so sick all day. I almost didn't go, but had to due to the fact that A.) I've been looking forward to it for so long, and B.) I had a friend get us discounted tickets, and basically made her go when she almost didn't. I dragged myself off the couch and we didn't get there until 5PM (it started at 10AM). I missed most of the bands, but only missed two that I REALLY wanted to see, and only one that i was really bummed about missing. Brian goes early because he can hang all day, so i usually meet up with him later anyway. i can't hang in the heat. We got there right on time for the cooler weather though. It started to cool off and a small storm even rolled in, which brought some wind, okay a lot of wind. THey had to shut it down for about 30 minutes in the middle of Rise Against's set due to the wind and lightening. All and all it was a pretty cool night!
The Entrance to Edgefest. Very festive.

My Muffin and I and some balloons:

Some fat hairy dude in women's underwear... don't ask.

Some of the attractions... Art. I believe they were all spray painted art, they had other paintings as well, like a Audrey Hepburn painting, etc. It was okay. Not super cool, but pretty cool.

A "water park". There were maybe 3-5 of these blow up water slides. Fun!

Brian and my muffin. Don't you love her shirt?

The stage at night. Crappy picture because my camera sucks at night. This is with the night settings. Yeah... pretty much anything except auto turns out fuzzy. I hate it.

New Family Member!

My wonderful husband brought me home an early anniversary/birthday present! I've been saying how much I want a puppy for a good time now, and he promised he would for our 1 year anniversary. I was very very surprised when he brought this cutie home!

Look how little she is next to Gizmo! So tiny!

Don't you just LOVE this face?

Sleepy time!

Meet Miss Lily! Isn't she the cutest?!
