Incase you're wondering about Bob's ears... He's Husband's best friend/our roomate's dog and he's a rescue. He rescued him from the Humane Society, and his horrible douchebag of previous owners cut his ears, and unprofessionally. Like, by themselves. It's so sad. I was just thinking the other day of how freaking cute he would be with his floppy ears. Poor Bob. :(

Crafts: Sewing - Throw Pillows

As you may have noticed, my #19 goal is to learn to sew. Yeah, I'm working on this. So far I'm decent at sewing pillows. They're easy, and square. haha I took it a step further this weekend and sewed pillow slip covers. I like to change it up, and I hate having to buy new pillow inserts each time, plus when one of the doggies dirties it, it's easier to throw in the wash.

Anyway, there was a Hobby Lobby grand opening by my house (OMG holy awesome-ness of a store!), and I just HAD to check it out. I had no idea Hobby Lobby had everything from crafts to home decor, I thought it was just mainly craft stuff. They had some sales going on too. Unfortunately I bought from the fabric/sewing section and none of that was on sale. :(

So here are my super awesome pillow slips I sewed. I got the instructions from my new favorite craft blog Make It and Love It. HERE is the tutorial for the bows HERE is the tutorial for slip covers.

Note: my pillows are a different size than the tutorials. I used 16x16in pillows. My measurements were the following:

Pillow: 16.5 front side, 21" back side (and then I cut it and hemmed the slip part.
Bows: I did 16.5x4.5" - I didn't do different sized strips because my pillow was more square than rectangle, they were all the same size, but I just sewed one side further than the other if that makes sense.




Oh, by the way, I ran out of the brown polka dotted fabric, so one pillow only has one bow. I think it's still cute. And of course Lily wanted to model it for you all.



So whattya think? Yay? Nay? Cute? Or should I give up on the sewing while I'm ahead. ;P

Christmas Puppies

So I tried taking my annual Christmas photos of the dogs by the tree... yeah, didn't work out too well for me this year. Here's what I got.

This one turned out ok. It's the only one I got of her without her ears back, because I'm saying, "Noooo! Lily! Stay! Sit! Noooooo!" and I'm pushing 3 other dogs away and yelling at one of the big ones because she is curious and wants to know what's going on while getting all up in my picture and ruining it. Ack!


This one looks pretty much like last year's. He can't keep his eyes open because of the flash. His face makes me laugh.

And this is Bob. Bob is awesome. He's not mine, but I wish he were. He's Husband's BFF's dog, who is staying with us right now. Bob really is the coolest dog you'll ever meet. He's such a lover. I let him borrow Gizmo's scarf. He looks scared. haha

Miss Lillian Had A Birthday

My baby girl had a birthday.... (umm... in August). Anyway, she's just as crazy, if not crazier than when we first got her. Girlfriend does need some obedience classes though. How do I describe Lily... Hmmm.. Hyper is the first thing that comes to mind. She's hyper practically 24/7. It never stops. That's why I love her best when she's sleepy. She does a 180, and turns into a completely different dog. She's snuggles and cuddles and is just so sweet. She wants to be near you at all times. Sleeps under the covers just like she did when she was a little puppers. She is a little bit of a scardy-cat. Has a little bit of separation anxiety. I don't know where she got that, but she's always been like that. She throws a fit if I need to take Gizmo somewhere and leave her alone. Like it's the end of the world.

Husband surprised me with this cute little thing for my birthday/anniversary present last year.


I mean, is this not the cutest thing you've ever seen?

This is what happens when you give her any kind of authority. She listens, but she looks like she's in trouble. She gives you THIS face.

And this is our baby girl now. She's stayed pretty small. Did you know she has a 12 pack of abs? no joke. I wish she would stay still enough for me to get a picture of that. It's so funny.

Lily Loves The Sprinklers

Miss Lily LOVES the sprinklers. Every morning when I go out and turn them on, this is what she does...


"Oh hey! What's that?!"


"NOM NOM NOM! Bite the water!"


"WEEEE! OMG I LOVE SPRINKLERS!!"


"OMG Mommy! Did you see that?! These things came out of the ground and got me all wet! It was fun! Will you throw my toy in the middle of the yard? I like playing fetch in the sprinklers!"



...and repeat. This is a daily thing now. Oh and please ignore the status of my backyard. Husband has decided to tear it apart. His OCD is getting the best of him. He is removing the rock and brick. He also removed the tree. He absolutely hates the fact that grass grows through the rock and wants it all grass back here. Whatev.
